Winter Village

Happy November!

This month I am sharing with you my warm and cosy project - Light up Winter Village.
This was super fun to create and now you have a gorgeous Christmas decoration too!

I made this project using the following Eileen Hull dies;
- Book Box Die
- Starlit Village 666535
- Home Sweet Home 666978

I started off by creating the box frame. I had to cut out the aperture with a spare backing board, to use as the front panel i.e the frame. I stained the box and frame using a tea back, once this was dry, I then used some distress ink to add more highlights on the frame (the front frame I put on last, once the inside scene was complete.

I cut out all the components for the scene. I cut out a separate sheet of paper, then used the stars die from the starlit village die set to create my sky. The bottle lights were glued down first, then I adhered the sky sheet to the back board, raising it up using foam pads.

Trees then got a highlight of snow, using a white gel pen. I didn't have the right colour card, so I had to print off the exact colour I wanted! I added a few silver gems to the sky, to give it that added sparkle when the scene is lit up.

I adhered the scene together with hot glue, added a snowman, reindeer, snow and mini pinecones to complete the scene! It looks so cool lit up, and this will have a spot somewhere in our living room this festive season!

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a message and I will be happy to assist.

See you next month! And in the meantime, happy crafting!
