Gingerbread Mania!

Welcome back to my blog! Another month, another Christmas Design!

September's theme is 'Box Bonanza'.

I thought I would take this opportunity to create a Christmas-theme display using two of Eileen Hull's box dies.

I have used the following dies for this project;

-664345 Gift Box

-666476 Slotted Box

-666043 Alphabet Die

-665326 Wreath & Snowflake

This project was really fun to create and it will be super useful this festive season when we make our traditional gingerbread biscuits!

I have broken down the process into a few easy steps. So let's make a start....

Step 1: I cut out both boxes using mat board and used hot glue to adhere them together...

Step 2: I covered the gift box die with light brown textured card to resemble the look of gingerbread. I then added the scalloped edges to make it look like the snow on the front of the box. I then found some fluffy wool which I applied to the roof to give it that 'snow' look!...

Step 3: I covered the slotted box with textured when card, then I used hot glue to add the gingerbread house on to the slotted box! I had some fastens and hinges from an old box, so I reused them in this project!

Step 4: I added a star, which i cut from the geometric box die. I added some striped straws down each corner ( I later coloured these straws red, as I wasn't happy with the pink)

Step 5: I added a door and windows...

Step 6: I added gems to the roof, to resemble coloured sweets! I cut out several gingerbread people and dotted them around my project!

Step 7: I added red card all round the edges of the base of the slotted box. I then die cut letters out from the alphabet die...

Step 8: I completed the slotted box by adding a gingerbread person and some fluffy wool for the snow...

Step 9: I used a white pen to add some detailing around the windows and the door. I then completed this look with some red and white twine tied in a bow...
