Mini Book House

Hi and welcome back to my blog! Today, I am going to be showing you how to make this cute little house using Eileen Hull's Mini Book die! So, let's get started...

I cut out the following;
4 x book covers
12 x little rectangle shapes
3 x oval shapes ( I am only going to be using two of them)
2 x keys ( using just one)
I decided to cut a couple of spares at the beginning just in case I wanted to add more.

I then took two of the book covers and glued together using the hot glue gun....

I used a brick stencil and texture paste to create the brick effect on the outside walls...

While I am waiting for the texture paste to dry, I decided to cut out the tiles for the roof using Eileen's leaf die...

I then cut a few strips of the silver paper for the top and bottom of the roof and then I assembled the leaves and strips of paper onto another book cover...

I then added a background paper to two of the ovals and then added six of the small rectangles to each of the windows...

Once the texture paste was dry, I then added the distress inks to add colour to the bricks. The colours I used were 'spiced marmalade' and 'vintage photo'.

I then added the windows to the walls...

I used the last book cover I cut, to become the base. I then used the die to cut two of the photograph edges and glued to the base - these will act as a support for the walls...

The next step was to glue the walls and the roof to the base using the hot glue gun...

I cut out by hand, some fascias for the front and rear of the house and I added two wooden hearts for the chimney...

I then wanted to see how many mini books I could fit into this cute house - four fit in comfortably!

I added some moss around the house, including up the walls to give it that weathered feeling! I then added a mixture of embellishments, flowers, twine, metallic cord and gems to complete my design!

I am really pleased with the finished project and it was sooooo fun to make! Here are a few more photos for you to see....

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope it has inspired you to have a go at making a sweet little house to store your mini books in.
