Flower Seed Box Tutorial
I am so excited to share my Chapter 1 release with you! The dies in this collection are versatile, practical and fun to embellish.
The Phone Stand, an XL ScoreBoards die, is a MUST- you need one for every room! Make for yourself, family, friends, for gifts or to sell- the die cuts the stand in one pass and is very easy to assemble.
The Book Box can be used to make a book or a box that holds A-2 greeting cards. What a great way to package handmade cards ... or a quick and easy book!
Add the Vintage Buttons folder to create vintage backgrounds for cards, journals, pages and tags. The 3D effect is stunning when you add a little Luster Wax to bring out the highlights...
The Snail Mail Thinlits die cuts a postal pane that coordinates with two of Eileen's Snail Mail Maker Forte stamps. This die was designed to use on the front of an A-2 card!
The dies may be found in local scrapbook stores and Eileen's Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/EileenHull
Today, I am sharing with you this wonderful box I have created using Eileen Hull’s Chapter 1 release die of 2022. I love how the die can be used to make either a book or a box, it’s so versatile and so much fun too!
I made this cute little box to store flower seeds in, the seed packets fit in perfectly! I will guide you through the making process now;
Step 1: The matboard was cut ready…
Step 2: Taking the box sides, I glued them together with hot glue and mounted them onto one of the book covers/box lid…
Step 3: I added the second book cover/box lid to my structure and attached this using the spine to the base of the design as pictured below;
Step 4: I created and printed off some wording onto card and adhered to the spine of the box. Perfect if you wanted to make little storage boxes and you can stack them on the shelf as you would do with books and you easily know which is in each little storage container. You could do a little collection of gardening boxes (for flowers, vegetables, summer meadow mix, bee friendly seeds etc etc etc)
Step 5: The next step was to start decorating the inside of my box, so I have cut and glued this lovely background paper into place…
Step 6: The same paper was then added to the outsides of the box, following on the same tartan pattern…
Step 7: I chose this gorgeous flower background paper to go on both the front and rear covers of the box…
Step 8: I needed something to keep the seed packets inside the box, so I added some lovely lilac/purple gingham ribbon…
Step 9: The last and final bit was to start the decorating! I started by adding this wonderful little watering can…
And then the rest of the decorations followed…
How cute are these water - droplet hearts coming from the watering can? These were just a few heart beads tied on and then glued into place…
See how perfectly these seed packets fit into this cute book/box Eileen has wonderfully created…
Here are a couple of other projects that I have created with Eileen’s Chapter 1 dies. First, is this gorgeous card made using Eileen’s buttons embossing folder. I coloured each button in using pearlescent watercolour paints.
And secondly is this Valentine’s themed phone stand…
Featuring lace, flowers and some adorable hearts…
Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope I have encouraged you to get creative with this versatile die, the possibilities are endless!
