Christmas Wonder!

Hi all! I know it's only July, but if you are like me, I love seeing Christmas ideas all year round! Here are some tree decorations I have made using Eileen Hull's Mitten Die....don't they look cute?! I decided to stick to a traditional red and gold theme and incorporate Father Christmas onto my design. I will show you the steps I took to make them....

Step 1. So, to start with I cut out two mittens using matboard.

Step 2. I have got loads of lovely Christmas papers that I bought last year, so I decided on my colour theme and then chose my base paper. It is a plain white background with metallic gold snowflakes on, perfect for catching the light when they are hanging on the Christmas tree!

Step 3. To break up the background slightly, I decided to add some cream lace to the cuff of the mitten.

Step 4. I then started to play around with the embellishments and colours. During this time I had help from my cat, Benjamin, who decided to play football with the buttons and knocked them on the floor haha. He does love to get involved in everything I do! I then cut strips of ribbon, which I glued under the poinsettia flower. I hole punched each mitten at the top ready for adding the ribbon later.

Step 5. I wanted to add something along the bottom edge of the mittens, so I decided on Father Christmas and a couple of buttons to bring in some more of the red colour to blend in with the poinsettia flowers. I also added a couple of extra strips of ribbon to the flower to blend in with the red & white Father Christmas. I added gold ribbon through the hole, so I can easily hang them on the tree. Now my design is complete and I am looking forward to hanging these on my tree this year!

Thank you for taking the time in reading my blog and I will be back again soon!
